hi! I’m Naomi. I’m a fan of slow mornings, steaming mugs of tea, the best dark chocolate I can find, steaming bread from the oven, and speaking French (Bonjour!). My perfect day includes giggling uncontrollably with my closest friends while the cinnamon-kissed scents of a raspberry pie perfume the house.
I live in Ventura County and currently work as a photographer, writer, recipe developer and illustrator for Edible Ojai and Ventura County. You can find my work for them here. Go check it out! I recently lived and worked on an organic and biodynamic farm for 5 months, called Apricot Lane Farms, and it completely changed my mind about sauerkraut. Hello, fermentation! Look out for some cute illustrations of chickens and farm animals coming to a screen near you!
What else? I love to dance, sing, draw, paint, photograph, write, cook and bake (obviously!), and share my zest for life with anyone willing to listen. Someday I dream to grow most of my own fruits and veggies, but for now I have a single kale plant infested with spiders (oh, hi Ms. Black widow…).
Here on this blog you will find fun (hopefully!) seasonal recipes, watercolor illustrations, some bomb photos (again, hopefully), and little life snippets and anecdotes. This space is an artist’s practice, a chance to hone my skills (and knives) until they’re razor sharp!
Join the party!
